Maricopa Community Colleges Select Gideon Taylor

The Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) has awarded Gideon Taylor pre-approved vendor status in a competitive bid process. GT was among the top six firms awarded out of a field of twenty-one respondents. A total of twelve firms were awarded based on responses to the District's Request for Proposal.


The RFP covers all the District's PeopleSoft needs for the next five years, specifically including workflow and business process automation.


In addition to the RFP award, MCCCD has selected Gideon Taylor for an initiative to automate the District's personnel actions. GT will implement GT eForms™, our workflow and electronic forms development framework, and ePAF™, our pre-developed suite of personnel action eForms. Our consulting team will lead an agile project to customize ePAF™ for the District's unique business needs, and help bring the solution to production quickly.


MCCCD ranks as the nation’s largest system of its kind and as the largest single provider of higher education in Arizona. MCCCD employs approximately 12,000 persons and educates approximately 250,000 students.

Quick Entry Forms Bring New PeopleTools 8.5 Features to Pre-9.1 Apps

At the Alliance 2010 conference, our session demonstrated new PeopleTools 8.5 features, reviewed them, and showed how to bring them to your users quickly, even in pre-9.1 applications.


To get all the great new look-and-feel features of PT 8.5 working for your users without modifications, we propose a Quick Entry Page approach, where you build a custom page for your users to work in that acts as a front-end for a delivered component. The Quick Entry Page:

  • Implements new 8.5 usability features,
  • Brings together all the fields they need in one place, and
  • Updates the target component when it is saved.

GT eForms™ 2.8.2, the most recent release of Gideon Taylor’s workflow and self-service development toolkit for PeopleSoft, makes it much easier and faster to develop a Quick Entry Page. Even more exciting, once your Quick Entry Page is working, you can use GT eForms™ to ramp up your Quick Entry page into a full-featured electronic form, complete with approval routing and notification emails.

GT eForms™ 2.8.2 Minor Release Available

Incorporating new functionality developed at our recent UBC and UA projects, GT eForms™ 2.8.2 is now available to our clients.


New functionality includes:

  • Enhanced Repeat functionality
  • Simplified PeopleCode Hooks - In most cases, replace each Component PeopleCode program with one generic line of code.
  • Quick Entry optimizations - Faster creation of thin eForms-based applications.
  • Automatic Pre-Population - Intelligent method to pre-populate your eForm from the target PeopleSoft component, using just one line of code.
  • Online Equally Authorized Roles management
  • Various patches and fixes

Also coming soon:

  • Save for Later - Save partially completed eForms to finish later.
  • Clone eForm - Rather than re-enter similar data again, just clone an eForm!
  • Setup-Based Page Display - Use less pages by using a setup page to make fields editable, display-only, required, or hidden, depending on context.

Congratulations to HEUG and the other sponsoring user groups on another successful Alliance conference! San Antonio was beautiful, and the conference was interesting, informative and vibrant. Gideon Taylor was pleased to support the conference as a Silver Sponsor.


At our booth, Gideon Taylor provided live demonstrations of our workflow and automation solutions on the newest PeopleSoft applications, including the great-looking new PeopleTools 8.5. We appreciated the many attendees who visited us and the extensive interest shown in our solutions.
