CUSTOM APPLICATION DESIGN
At each of our client sites, we have been and continue to be impressed by the power of a human system to resist change, regimentation, and conformance with an agenda not of its own making. This is, simply put, why most off-the-rack software solutions create such limited value—the human system resists changing its internal structure in order to conform to the software’s structure and protocols. We recognize this and provide a custom application development practice area within our firm. We offer a wide variety of platforms, solutions, and options to not only personalize our flexible templates but also to design and implement truly custom applications.
An example of our custom application practice is our Asset Management (AM) work for Brigham Young University. BYU wanted to leverage their early General Ledger (G/L) data entry practices by using G/L data to feed AM, rather than the other way around. We built a custom application that served as a staging area for G/L data bound for AM, and provided automated matching with Receiving data; intelligent combination of multiple lines into single assets, or division of single lines into multiple assets; cost balancing; robust search and sort functionality and other management tools. This solution revolutionized the Asset Management functions at BYU, eliminating dual entry and increasing process efficiency by at least 200%. |
